WHAT is the WHAT #5

On page 54, another handless man is mentioned. I believed that this symbolizes strength because people with both hands struggle to do many things today. Without hands is probably more difficult. I think this is a story of a man vs. himself because even though he has many people in his life, he faces many struggles that he has to overcome with his own actions, his own thoughts, and his own inner strength. Actually..now that I think about it, it may be man vs.society because a lot of the conflicts he encounters, many other people encounter also and he is struggling against different societies. Well, i'm really not sure.
